André Lewis
Captain, US Air Force
André Lewis, a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in Astronautical Engineering, served as a Captain in the Air Force for nine years before becoming a pilot for a major airline in 1998. Currently a Boeing 767 Captain for Federal Express, André is also deeply involved in community service, having worked with non-profit organizations for over 25 years. He has held leadership roles in various organizations, including past president of The Ronald E. McNair Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., past president of the Rotary Club of Benicia, California, and current president of Literary Tools.
In 2005, André founded Literary Engineers, a publishing company aimed at inspiring children and families through dynamic customized books. In 2016, he established Literary Tools, a nonprofit organization dedicated to distributing literary resources to communities. In 2024, André launched www.literaryportal.com, providing access to educational resources for families worldwide.
Residing in the San Francisco area with his wife and three daughters, André’s life mission is to change and save lives through literacy.
